Job Description
Materials Controller – Hinckley – £28,000 – £32,000 + CIPS
Chase & Holland are delighted to be partnered with a successful and very well-established Manufacturing and Engineering business based in Hinckley as they seek to recruit for a Materials Controller to join their team. Reporting into the Materials Manager and as part of the Supply Chain Team, the role of Material Controller will be responsible ensuring that raw materials from the sister companies are available as required and also working with the production planner to maintain optimum productivity.

Operational Buyer Responsibilities:
Ensuring on time material supply in line with the SIOP timetable and procedures
Ensuring that lead times are known and respected
Placing purchase orders on the system
Maximising delivery performance
Providing information to stakeholders relating to delivery plans
Working with the Purchasing team to ensure that no Manufacturing order is delayed due to raw material shortages
To work with the Production Planner in the event of a critical supply shortage / build stop risk
To work with Stores personnel to minimise good receipt / dwell time
Escalation of perceived risk and actual non-conformities in real time
Assessing the status of work in progress, material availability and any potential production problems
Ensuring feedback to customers is maintained and any actual / forecasted arrears and orders are re-committed
Maximising on time in full performance (OTIF)
Management of WTL (work to lists), ensuring the plan is achieved, rescheduling of historic and non-kitted works orders
Ensuring orderbook dashboard is complete with live ship by dates, route causes to allow feedback to customer
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30 and 7:30am – 12:30pm Friday (Flexible)
Required Skills & Experience:
Have ERP/MRP knowledge and experience
Engineering / Manufacturing experience would be advantageous but not essential
Have strong attention to detail and be IT literate including Microsoft Excel
Be able to work to deadlines
