We are recruiting a Building Control Admin Support Officer; to provide administrative and business support to serve and support the delivery of Building Control service. The post holder has high knowledge and understanding of the service and has excellent customer care skills to ensure the service achieves and maintains market share:
Responsibility
To support the team leader in delivering day-to-day support services to the building control service and deputising in their absence. To positively assist and provide information to the general public, applicants and agents regarding general Building Control matters (e.g. charges, procedures etc.) either by phone or face to face:
Qualification – Essential
* 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
* Achieve by assessment LABC Level 3 Competency
* Working towards a Level 3 Certificate in Technical Support for Public Service Building Standards (LABC)
* or relevant admin experience
* Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media:
Essential – Skills, Abilities & Experience
* Proficient in carrying out all the technical support functions
* Excellent ICT skills, including use of Microsoft applications and specialist systems such as viewing technical drawings
* Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, including that of a minor commercial and more complex domestic nature
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to verbally represent the service
* A good team worker, able to work collaboratively, promoting involvement and engagement with colleagues
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise and co-ordinate workloads, monitor and evaluate work, to ensure standards, outcomes and deadlines are achieved
* Proven communication skills with the public, developers, builders and architects
* Be self-motivated, work on your own initiative, determine priorities and achieve results
* A positive approach to service delivery and a commitment to continuous improvement
* Good knowledge and understanding of the policy, practices, procedures and regulations/codes of practice relevant to the role
* Good working knowledge of Uniform
* Experience of working in Local Authority Building Control
* Essential Compliance Requirements
* Three Years of Reference
* Enhanced DBS
* A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
