Job Description
Are you a carpenter with experience of making bespoke cabinets? Do you like working hands-on in a fast-paced environment? We have a new and exciting opportunity for you.
Main Duties:
* Assist and establish sound working methods for all departmental production and ensure that they are maintained.
* Ensure that production targets are met by using the production team, tools and equipment.
* Report any problems that may hold up production to the Production Manager immediately.
* Ensure that safe working practices are used at all times, and the machining process is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
* Determine the cause of time and production variances.
* Ensure that lost and idle time is kept to an absolute minimum.
* Ensure that documentation relating to work in progress or completed work is updated as required.
* Identify the need for overtime work, and arrange the appropriate staffing levels, to achieve production targets.
* Ensure that finished components are transported safely and stored safely in the correct place.
* Liaise with the Production Manager and organise stock replenishment.
* Discuss and agree on production targets with the Production Manager and departmental workers.
* Maintain good personnel relationships.
* To ensure that the quality of all work complies meet quality standards at all times.
Personal Attributes:
* Previous experience in a similar role, building bespoke furniture.
* Ability to plot measurements of materials accurately and keep waste to a minimum.
* Motivated and take pride in creating high-quality products and maintaining a high level of personal reputation.
* Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines required by the business with no loss in quality and finish of the final product.
* A keen eye for small details who will pick up any small or minor errors so that they can be fixed.
Remuneration & Conditions of Assignment:
* £10p/h+ DOE.
* Full-Time, Permanent.
