Overview of a Cook
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Cook
The role of Cook to join the team. A Cook has a competitive pay rate of £11.09 per hour.
Other benefits include excellent training and support for career development and 21 days of holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).

The Main Purpose of a Cook:

" To provide an efficient and flexible service to meet our customer's needs.
" The preparation and cooking of foods.
" The supervision of staff and allocation of duties in the absence of the supervisor.
" Assist in the cleaning of equipment, kitchens and dining area as required to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained at all times.
" To ensure efficient levels of stock.
" The checking and recording of all food received, quantities of ingredients used and the number of meals produced and served.
" Handle cash for goods purchased.
" Deal with all customers in a friendly, swift and efficient manner.
" Promote and understand the Council's Healthy Eating policies.
" Monitor and ensure that all work meets food hygiene and Health & Safety Standards.
" Ensure that the Health & Safety at Work Act as defined by the Council are observed within the kitchen and report any accidents/incidents in the kitchen or complaints regarding staff welfare.

About you, the successful will have:

" High standard of personal presentation.
" Good standard of physical mobility.
" Reasonable standards of sight and hearing.
" Able to lift moderate weights.
" Be declared fit for work by the Council's Occupational Health Service before deployment.
" Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Training will be provided).
" Knowledge of Basic Health and Safety (Training will be provided.)
