Job Description

Acorn Recruitment is proud to be recruiting an Engagement Director on behalf of the leading training provider in the construction industry.

They are looking for an Engagement Director to join them on a full-time, permanent basis to drive forward their delivery in Wales. The role will be working 35 hours a week with an anticipated starting salary of £71,862 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will be provided with a company car or annual cash allowance alternative of £6,854.

They are embracing hybrid working. If you are successful, you will be based from home, but will spend much of your time out and about meeting key construction employers and stakeholders to ensure our offer meets customers' needs and is kept up to date.

What you'll do:

You'll be joining a dynamic team who are passionate about making a difference and supporting the construction industry to have a skilled, competent and inclusive workforce, now and in the future.

The Engagement Director will be responsible for heading up activity in Wales, building and maintaining relationships with construction employers to ensure their voice influences the products and services that they provide. A key element of this role will see you use your knowledge and awareness of the industry to have meaningful dialogue with representative bodies such as construction federations, associations and professional institutions.

Another key element will see you using your political and influencing skills to ensure the policy positions of government, related organisations and groups reflect the skills and funding needs of the sector.
To promote the take up of construction qualifications and careers you'll ensure collaborative ways of working are in place with bodies such as Qualifications Wales, Careers Wales and DWP, as well as education providers, including Further and Higher Education establishments to see the pipeline of required talent developed to meet industry skill needs.

Ensuring excellent customer service delivery and performance, through leading a high performing team you'll deliver our Wales Nation Plan while successfully increasing take up of products and services, contributing to the achievement of the organisations Business Plan targets.

What you'll need:

The successful candidate will have experience of positively leading efficient and effective remote working teams.
You'll be a skilled relationship builder with good communication skills, able to influence others to deliver the best for their customers.

You will be well versed in programme management and delivering services in accordance with a Welsh Language Scheme.
Previous experience or knowledge of government policy in careers, apprenticeships, skills, training and employment as well as the qualifications landscape in construction, will enable you to excel in this opportunity.
A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
