Job Description
Brightwork are supporting a leading FMCG production company in Livingston with the recruitment of a Material Planner to join their Supply Chain team on a Fixed Term Contract.
The Material Planner is responsible for the day-to-day accountability for Scheduling and Expediting components against MRP requirements. This will be in line with the business/customer production and sales orders.
You’ll have to ensure that all relevant Master Data and Procurement parameters are accurate and updated on MRP system.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and scheduling deliveries of specific purchased products to meet the demands of our forecast.
Stock management of procured product to ensure stock levels are maintained to agreed level whilst ensuring production shortages are minimised.
Daily update and management of Book In Queue in conjunction with Goods In.
Schedule new production introductions and ensure material is available whilst controlling timely run-out of old materials.
Buying and negotiation of materials.
Maintaining continual contact with suppliers, ensuring information flow is timely and effective to optimize supply chain.
Immediate reporting of supplier issues.
Successful candidates will have experience of working within a material planning environment, or have a strong understand of the supply process – candidates can come from procurement, production or material planning. You must have the ability to plan activities, carry out problem solving processes and have a good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
