Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Southampton
Salary: £33,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
Type: Permanent
A fantastic opportunity to work for an M&E Service Provider who are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing bias) to cover a large commercial/industrial site based in Southampton. This role is offering a salary of 33k. With Fantastic opportunities to develop and progress within the industry.
Job Role:
You will be required to work a 40 hour week between Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm. Alternative weeks with plenty of overtime opportunities available.
The role of a Mechanical Engineer role to carry out the planned and reactive repairs to various plant equipment. Additionally the engineer will be expected to assist other trades as directed by the operations supervisor.
·Provide general mechanical/ Plumbing/ HVAC/ Building services maintenance support on all buildings and plant.
·Implement all mechanical maintenance and corrective works on the site in accordance with Maintenance Instructions, company and site specific procedures.
·Perform testing and inspecting of mechanical systems in accordance with industry standards.
·Provide accurate feedback and information including but not limited to completed test sheets, routine rounds inspection sheets and work dockets containing durations of maintenance activities and observations.
·Ensure that all plant and systems are maintained and operated in order to provide maximum efficiency, availability and reliability.
·Carry out remedial and/or refurbishment works arising from breakdown or maintenance inspections.
Relevant work experience includes but is not limited to;
·Emergency lighting
·AHU’s, FCU’s
·Pumps, Motors
·Plumbing
·Fans, Belts, Filters
·General maintenance
·Unvented water systems
·Commercial boilers
Skills Required:
The successful candidate must have:
·The ideal candidate will have the relevant qualifications – City & Guilds – Plumbing/ Mechanical
·With at least 3 years’ experience working within building services maintaining mechanical plant
·Must be well presented with good interpersonal skills as this is a client facing role
