Job Description
Operational Buyer – Hinckley – £30,000 – £35,000 + CIPS
Chase & Holland are delighted to be partnered with a successful and very well-established Manufacturing and Engineering business based in Hinckley as they seek to recruit for an Operational Buyer to join their team. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this exciting position will play a pivotal role in ensuring availability of materials to support production. The business are reputable leaders within their field and are forecasting a continued period of growth over the next 5 years and beyond.

Operational Buyer Responsibilities:
Ensuring on time material supply in line with the SIOP timetable and procedures
Ensuring that Supplier lead times are known and respected
Placing Purchase orders on the system with the default / nominated supplier
Ensuring that any required deviation from the default supplier is escalated and authorised within supplier / delivery lead times
Ensuring that stock parameters relating to external supply are populated and accurate in Epicor
Maximising supplier delivery performance
Working with Supply Chain team to reduce cost from the Supply Chain and support Supplier development projects
Providing information to stakeholders relating to supplier delivery plans
Ensuring that all information relating to Customs clearance, duty and VAT control are in line with company policy and communicated to all relevant parties
To work with internal teams to ensure daily targets are achieved
KPI – Supplier OTIF, Purchase Price Variance
Escalation of perceived risk and actual non-conformities in real time
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30 and 7:30am – 12:30pm Friday (Flexible)
Required Skills & Experience:
Have ERP/MRP knowledge and experience
Engineering / Manufacturing experience would be advantageous but not essential
Have strong attention to detail and be IT literate including Microsoft Excel
Be able to work to deadlines
Ideally have at least 2 year purchasing experience
