Job Description

Our client is one of the world’s leading suppliers of train connection systems, with 80 years of experience in the rail industry and continues with its steady, robust growth in couplers, gangways, front hatches, dampers and crash energy management, as well as the service segment of the rail industry.

The position of Operations Manager will manage an operations department within an onsite subsidiary.

Responsibilities

* Plan and manage all operations activities in subsidiary within the scope of responsibility.

* Manage planning, preparation, workshop and warehouse activities in accordance with Quality manual, processes and policies.

* Plan and execute the manufacturing (if applicable), the assembly and the warehouse tasks in order to reach target of service level.

* Implement, improve and follow up quality activities incl. pre-delivery test etc according to the Quality system.

* Inventory control make sure procedures are followed and reporting executed correct in order to minimise variances.

* Drive the LEAN development within the organization including generating and implementing continuous Improvements.

* Plan, evaluate and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance Security, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC).

* Develop and manage the budget for the department to ensure that all financial and cost objectives are met, and targets achieved. Review performance data, relevant KPI’s and reports, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.

* Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall framework to delegate responsibility and encourage employee contribution including goal setting, appraisals, constructive feedback and performance development planning.

* Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organisation's and that emphasises the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values (RAJT) of the organisation.

* Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall framework to delegate responsibility and encourage employee contribution including goal setting, appraisals, constructive feedback and performance development planning.

Candidate Profile

* Experience from industrial production like manufacturing and/or assembly

* Good knowledge of the English language in written and verbally, LEAN-experience, communicative, target oriented, leadership skills.

* Trainings: Health & Safety according to country specific law/demands, M3-planning,

In return our client is offering an attractive salary (up to £70,000), 25 days holiday increasing with length of service, early finish on Fridays.
