Job Description
Payroll Manager
Location – Hybrid/Hebburn
Salary: £70,000
Contract: 12 months fixed term contract – Maternity Leave
Core Hours: Monday – Friday, between 9am – 5pm
Reporting directly to the Head of HR, you will have one direct report. This role will have a flexible hybrid working model – which gives you the opportunity to balance working with the team in an office and remotely throughout the week. Your head office base will be Hebburn. You will be responsible for two teams with 11 direct reports.
Purpose of Role
To lead the payroll and HR administration teams during a period of change. To manage accurate and timely delivery of three payrolls covering c4,500 colleagues. To ensure excellent colleague administration from onboarding to offboarding. To actively participate in the delivery of a new people system. To work closely in partnership with internal colleagues across the people team and collaboratively with external bodies such as HM Revenue and Customs and systems providers.
Responsibilities
Lead the payroll and people administration work streams to deliver a new people system (SAP SF) to include design, testing and implementation
End to end ownership of accurate and timely payroll delivery through coaching and developing our excellent payroll team
Management of payroll for ex-pats, executive directors, and non-executive directors
Leadership of employment taxation matters including accountability for IR35 compliance, P11D process, liaison with Group tax and relationship with HMRC
End to end ownership of accurate and efficient colleague related administration liaising closely with other teams in HRSS to ensure a seamless delivery
Onboarding and offboarding activity in relation to M&A activity
Ensure the teams deliver excellent customer experience for our colleagues alongside strong compliance and assurance
Skills & Experience
Excellent payroll knowledge including ability to do complex manual calculations
SAP SF management and implementation
IR35 assessments
Team leadership
Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for delivering high standards
