Job Description
This is an opportunity for a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to join an SME manufacturing business in a newly created role to manage and continuously improve an efficient and cost-effective supply chain. This will be a very hands-on leadership role within a customer focused manufacturing environment with global reach.
Full-time, site based in Daventry.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and development of a team of 6 direct and 7 indirect reports
Development of process and procedures across procurement, logistics, sales order processing, stock control.
Manage the supply chain with the objectives of improving quality, cost and delivery performance and providing added value
Development of sourcing strategies, negotiation and purchasing of materials, consumables, and services ensuring cost effective and quality supplies, continually monitoring supplier performance
Ensure effective systems are in place and regularly reviewed to monitor data and ensure accurate product, contract, pricing and invoicing information is available.
Control stock, using Lean techniques, to ensure that stock levels match requirements, manage current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.Skills & Experience:
Supply chain leadership experience within a manufacturing environment – covering procurement, logistics, sales order processing, stock control.
CIPS qualified with at least 5 years senior supply chain management experience.
Thorough understanding of Procurement & Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding supply, purchasing and supplier selection.
Excellent negotiating, influencing and communication skills
Understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change management.
Hands-on approach, willing to get stuck in and lead by example.
High level of computer literacy and MRP systems.
Team orientated with a collaborative approach
Able to work autonomously and take ownership.
