SEN Teaching Assistant

You're currently working with primary children with SEN and absolutely loving it! You're (quite rightly) proud of the contribution you make to SEN children's' learning – the work you do as a Teaching Assistant is both valuable and rewarding.

If you feel passionate about working in an early year's environment and can help children to learn and thrive with encouraging support, then this school I'm working with could be your ideal next assignment.

A Special school (SEN) which caters for pupils aged 3 – 19 who have complex learning difficulties (profound and multiple learning difficulties and severe learning difficulties) and those on the Autistic spectrum continuum are looking for a TA to work with them on a long-term basis.

There are a high proportion of autistic children attending the school so a good knowledge and understanding of autism is essential for the role. Also, being able to work with profound learning difficulties would be beneficial, although extensive training is provided.

Small class sizes with the support of the students own dedicated sensory occupational therapist, speech and language therapist and school nurse allows you meaningful time with each child to help them flourish.

The school is a purpose built setting to support students with SEN and so provides you with a comfortable and thriving working environment.

The leadership team is highly supportive, giving you the tools you need to plan meaningful learning activities to all pupils, allowing them develop to their fullest potential; academically, socially, emotionally, physically, morally and spiritually.
