Job Description
Job Role: Site Engineer
Project: Southampton to London pipeline – based in Southampton
Duration: 6 months rolling contract
Day Rate: £300 – £375 per day (Inside IR35)
Summary of the Site Engineer:
I am currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to work on a major pipeline civils project based in Southampton on a long term contract capacity.
Responsibilities of the Site Engineer:
Deliver the works safely
Completing all necessary paperwork such as ITP’s and quality documentation
Setting out the works in accordance with the contract requirements before work is programmed to commence.
Communicate with foremen, gangers, workforce and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the setting-out information provided, measured and signed off before covering up and that information is passed to the QS and QA function.
Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation, as required by these statements and plans, is produced in a timely manner.
Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements of the Site Engineer:
Degree educated in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
Relevant CSCS card
Experience working on heavy civils projects
Able to set out and level to an excellent standard
Experience of signing ITP’s
Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station instruments
