Job Description
LEVEL 3 SOC ANALYST
I am looking for a Level 3 SOC Analyst for a permanent role in an award winning MSSP Client. You will be working in an established team and report to the SOC Manager and be responsible for the hands-on management of assigned security incident tickets and ensure accurate recording of all information to the relevant parties. As the Senior Analyst will also evaluate incident handling of level 1 and level 2 analysts and carrying out technical investigations for escalated security incidents and to provide Incident Response technical leadership for investigations. You will be responsible for the technical sponsorship and guidance for the SOC team.
This role is part of 24/7 X 365 SOC providing security monitoring, detection and response, vulnerability management and configuration assurance. An attractive salary is on offer to the right candidate along with guaranteed career progression and ongoing training.
The role:
Analysis and investigation of alerts arising from SIEM tools
Analysis, investigation and refinement of alerts and reports arising from Network Behaviour Analytics tools
Vulnerability Scanning and reporting. Prioritising and tracking remediation of vulnerabilities
Utilising Intrusion Prevention solutions to monitor and alert on potential breaches
Using packet-capture tools, analyse packet flows and utilise network-based User Behaviour Analytics in order to understand breaches and track propagation of malware
Using Threat Intelligence Services to identify potential new threats and develop new mitigations
Working with customer security teams to detect, contain and eradicate threats
Understanding of security assessment and penetration testing tools advantageous but not essential

Enjoys research into emerging threats in the security landscape and identifying and analysing real-world threats
Works collaboratively, shares information, improves documentation and trains colleagues
Might have a home lab to test things and learn new skills
Enjoys attending Security events and Meet-Ups
