Job Description
Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Salary: £55-£85 daily
Location: Ashington (Northumberland)
Start Date: Immediate
Here at GSL we are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants in our partnered schools across Northumberland. The roles are immediate starts and require the candidates to have availability of at least two terms.
The schools are a primary setting in the Ashington area, you will be working with pupils in Key stages 1 and 2. The children have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Barriers so the ideal candidates will have a calming presence and be able to communicate effectively.
The ideal Candidates will…
Have excellent behaviour management skills
Be confident establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers
Be able to follow and assist with learning targets from the Class team in line with Education Health Care Plans
Enjoy working 1:1 with children who have significant barriers including Autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges & low learning levels
Have experience working within primary schools at key stage 1 and 2 (Or – If you have experience in a different setting supporting children or young adults, we would still love to hear from you – such as Care, Sports environments, Creative arts, relevant voluntary positions)
Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
Have a good level of academic ability
Have a kind, calm, and enthusiastic outlook with a great work ethic.
Availability for at least six months
