Job Description
Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing's team have been exclusively retained to manage a recruitment campaign for our prestigious client based in Sheffield.
The client is a worldwide leader in design and manufacturing for the orthopedic and medical device markets, including joint reconstruction, spine, trauma, sports medicine, extremities and dental. With 14 world-class facilities located around the globe, they continue to provide others an opportunity to live a better life through the products, services and the way the company conducts business.
Their Sheffield facility based off the Sheffield Parkway comprises a Forge, Foundry and CNC Machining and Finishing processes. It employs approximately 230 people and focuses on joint reconstruction, in particular knee and hip joints and also the instruments required to fit the medical device parts.
They currently have a vacancy available within the Wax Department and although experience in these areas would be an advantage, they are also looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and develop a career within this industry.
They are looking for individuals with experience or a desire to work in the following role:
Wax Trimming Operative
Working Hours: 39 hours per week
Week 1:
Monday to Thursday 07.00am-04.00pm
Friday: 07.00am – 12.00pm
Week 2:
Monday to Friday 10pm – 6am
Hourly Rate: £10.76 p/h + 25% shift allowance for night shifts (£13.45 p/h)
Overtime: Paid at time and ½ after 39 hours
Reporting to the Wax Team Leader you will be responsible for:
* Using hand held scalpels and files to remove defects from the wax moulds
* Working with high precision, small intricate parts
* Adherence to health & safety standards
* Use conventional measuring equipment for inspection of own work
* Responsible for own workflow and hitting KPI's
* Strong emphasis on quality
* To work under own initiative with minimal supervision
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Must have experience using handheld tools
* Be able to interpret and follow route cards
* Experience of working within a manufacturing
* Experience of working at a fast pace
* Great communication and teamwork skills
