The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: experience working with students with special educational needs

Vision for Education are seeking a 1:1 teaching assistant, to work with post 16 year old students who display MLD and anxiety.
The Role
This role requires a teaching assistant who has experience of supporting young people who display MLD, and SEMH. This is a full-time, long-term role from Monday to Thursday each week. Hours of work will be 9am to 3.30pm.
The successful applicant will have had previous experience in supporting individuals with a background of MLD, SEMH and be willing to support young children in their development throughout securing qualifications.
The School / Setting
Based in Chesterfield this unique setting specialises in the education of students who have an EHCP and are not able to attend a mainstream setting due to a variety of reasons, including anxiety and MLD. The team of staff are extremely passionate about providing the highest standard of education and care for their students and this is a value and ethos that the successful candidate will need to also embrace.
Requirements
To be considered for this position you will need to have the following:
Experience of following EHCP’s
Experience of supporting a vulnerable children or adults
Experience in children with MLD & SEMH
Previous experience of working on a 1:1 basis is highly desirable
Be available on a full-time basis from 3rd October 2022
Be flexible and creative in your approach
Training such as Team Teach are beneficial but not essential
