Job Description
1st Line Wintel Support Engineer – Shift
With responsibility for support of the Wintel Infrastructure, resolving faults, incidents and problems and performing approved changes across the customer base. The objective of the role is to ensure that we continue to provide excellence in Wintel systems support and management to our customers.
Skills and Abilities:
* Microsoft Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016 & 2019)
* Core Windows infrastructure components (DHCP, Windows failover clustering, etc.)
* Active Directory experience: Group Policy Objects (GPO), Forests, Domains, Domain Controller Roles, DNS, Permission Models, Delegation, Trust relationships, LDAP and Kerberos
* Azure AD technologies including Azure AD Connect, ADFS, Azure SSO and PIM
* Microsoft Identity Management (FIM/MIM)
* Anti-virus technologies (McAfee ePO, ENS, Symantec SEP, etc.)
Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that customers incident, change & requests tickets are managed in a professional, consistent manner
* Working closely with other team members to ensure customer satisfaction
* Ensuring processes are being followed
* Ensuring documentation is current and up to date.
* Perform installation of operating system patches and fixes
* Perform problem analysis and documentation and creating/updating Service Now incident tickets
* Perform detailed troubleshooting for complex system issues
* Work with hardware and software vendors to resolve customer issues
Requirements:
* Identify solutions or workarounds to customer incidents to ensure they are resolved within SLA
* Ensure technical documentation is kept up to date
* Interact with customers and vendors in a professional and collaborative manner
* Ensuring first rate customer service and promoting service excellence
* Ensuring processes are always followed
* Ensuring that customers incident, change and requests tickets are completed professionally and managed in a consistent manner
Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar Wintel technical support role
* Experience of working in an enterprise-level commercial environment
* Advantageous: Previous experience in a managed services or service provider environment
