Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Plumbing, Drainage and Builders Merchants
Industry Sector: Gravity Fed Drainage Systems, Plumbing and Drainage, Builders Merchants, Civil Merchants, Drainage Merchants, Plumbers Merchants, Building Contractors, House Builders and Developers
Area to be covered: East Scotland
Remuneration: £40,000-£42,000 Neg. + Lunch Allowance + up to £15,000 Bonus
Benefits: Fully Expensed Hybrid Car & Full Benefits
The role of the Area Sales Manager – Plumbing, Drainage and Builders Merchants will involve:
* Field sales role, selling company’s manufactured range of gravity fed above and below ground drainage systems, including; underground drainage, rainwater guttering and soil and waste drainage systems
* 50% of your time building relationships with building contractors and various small to medium sized builders and developers (looking to grow house builder customer base)
* 50% back selling through independent builders merchants & civil merchants and independent plumbers merchants (approx. 40-50 accounts in total)
* Inheriting a territory which is currently 50%+ up on last year
* Revenue responsibility of circa £2.3m last year
* Inheriting a territory, with huge potential for growth
* 60% new business development (predominantly with the housebuilders and building contractors), 40% account management role (managing the builders merchants)
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Plumbing, Drainage and Builders Merchants with:
* Must have sold to (or worked for) a builders merchant, plumbers merchant or civil merchant
* Open to a field sales representative, branch manager or trade counter representative that has worked for a builders merchant, plumbers merchant or civil merchant
* Ideally have 2-3 years proven field sales territory management experience
* Specific knowledge of gravity fed above and below ground drainage applications such as underground drainage, rainwater guttering and soil and waste drainage systems is not required
* Plumbing, drainage or heating field sales experience is not essential, our client is open to many different heavy-side and/or light-side building product backgrounds
* Ideally with experience of building relationships with building contractors, house builders or developers
* CRM proficient, high level of ability in terms of numeracy, IT capability, communication & organisational skills
* Go getter with raw enthusiasm
