Job Description
My client, an innovative culture cell media business has an exciting opportunity for a Cell Biologist to join their team in Oxfordshire.
As Cell Biologist, you will:
Developing new serum free formulations for cultivated media that will help maximise cell growth, keeping scalability in mind so that we can transfer to companies pilot facility and then a full production facility
Identifying protocols that will enhance high cell growth of mammalian cells, maximising cell biomass, while taking into consideration our costs, goals and resources and gaining buy-in from the taskforce
Develop and optimise cell culture protocols and cell-based assay protocols on the automation platform ensuring optimal efficiency and performance
Perform high-throughput screening experiments using Design Expert to identify the most appropriate media formulations for the different phases of cell isolation and steps in the creation of cultivated product, that are commercially viable and have the scalability needed
Working as part of company wide drive to take your teams proven lab concepts to create a commercially viable pilot manufacturing plant
Analysing and summarising experimental results, sharing learning with colleagues, managers and leaders so that your wider team and the company benefit from all you've done
To be considered for the role of Cell Biologist, you will have:
Established experienced as a cell biologist who has become a recognised expert in the area of culture media
Degree or PhD qualified in life science or an associated field
Extensive experience and skills in techniques around serum free culture medium evaluation and screening, culture characterisation, process optimisation and metabolic pathways
This is a permanent position based in Oxfordshire.
