Job Description
Our client in Bournemouth are looking for several locum Children’s Social Workers, to join their assessment service, with an immediate start for initially 6 months, paying up to £48 per hour.
The client is going through a period of change, and this will be a great time to join the service and be instrumental in embedding the new structure, new approach to work / life balance.
The main duties for this role include:
Experience of Undertaking Child and Family Assessments, S.47 inquiries and intervention and planning for 'Children in Need'
Required to use professional knowledge to assess, monitor and review social care needs of individuals, relatives and carers and to arrange the provision of appropriate care services
Must have significant knowledge, experience and specialist communication skills to gather information and make a full assessment of the risks, protection and social care needs of individuals, carers and families
Must be capable of devising individual care plans based on needs and risks and take appropriate action, in conjunction with other agencies, to protect vulnerable people
Required to manage an agreed caseload, offer support and guidance and monitor, review and reassess care packages/services to ensure continued effectiveness. Must be able to use paper and computerised case recording systems, produce reports and capture and analyse information
Understand philosophies, professional social work issues and the legal framework underpinning care services
Must be able to fulfill transport requirements
To apply for this role candidates must:
Hold a degree in social work or equivalent (e.g. CQSW, DipSW) and be registered with Social Work England.
Be competent in report writing and writing assessments
Be able to demonstrate full understanding of Child legislation
Previously worked within a Children’s Assessment Team or similar
