Job Description

Our client is seeking a switched-on, confident individual with an impeccable eye for detail and excellent communication skills to join their welcoming and professional team as Purchasing Administrator.

Though working in an office surrounded by others, this is a sole purchasing role, and it is essential that candidates applying are not only motivated to work to their own initiative but take ownership for their role and understand the importance of the position.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good grammar and take pride in their work.

Hours of work will be Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, with a 30-minute lunch and the candidate must have their own transport due to the office location. Salary per annum is based on experience and will likely pay between £22,000 – £24,000.

Daily duties:

Answer telephone and email enquiries
Accurately log all incoming customer problems
Send out quotations
Compose letters
Organise post and outgoing correspondence
Provide admin support to various teams
Manage the purchasing email inbox
Provide PO numbers
Process supplier invoices
Liaise with suppliers in relation to deliveries
Organise collections
Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets
Assist and implement new office processes
Provide excellent customer service at all times
All other adhoc administration tasks as required

Personality is key within this role. The client requires a candidate who enjoys and can work to their own initiative. Good Microsoft skills are paramount, as is the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Whilst previous administration experience is advantageous, the client is open to consider candidates with drive and a "can do attitude" who do not possess previous office experience, but they must be able to demonstrate some form of work experience where they are accountable.
