Job Description
About the Role:
* Ensure that all work undertaken complies with Engineering and safety legislation.
* Working an annualised shift pattern. The purpose of the role is to ensure maximum availability and reliability of the equipment. Attend machine breakdowns and effect repairs as quickly as possible.
* To carry out planned and preventative maintenance of the production equipment in line with the maintenance plan.
* To maintain the site utilities and services in line with legal requirements and to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
* Lead zero loss teams to reduce utilities usage and drive improvements to reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Champion quality, safety, health, environmental standards and legal compliance within the engineering teams
* Support and develop improvements to production equipment to drive site reliability targets. Facilitation of problem solving activities with both technical and non-technical personnel.
* Resolution of RCA’s to ensure system compliance and close out targets are met.
* Contractor management and issuing of permits to contractors in line with site permit procedures.
* Complete Planned preventative maintenance activities in line with the site plan.
* Organising and managing work in relation to facilities and site infrastructure.
* Developing plans and practices that reduce the site utilities consumption. Championing environmental performance to reduce site overheads.
* Supporting and managing the site utilities and services equipment to optimise operation and maximise reliability of the equipment.
* Working with the engineering planner to optimise the planned preventative maintenance program across the range of production equipment.
* Working with the operations teams to identify changeover improvements and provide technical support for AM activities.
* Delivering 5S improvement plans for the engineering department and driving overall standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
* Practical Engineering / Technical experience with a proven track record of maintenance delivery
* Strong interpersonal and communication are essential
* A Strong multi-skilled background (with an electrical bias) able to understand root cause of machine breakdown and develop solutions to engineer out.
* Develop principles of operation and change over and work with shift teams to train and develop operators.
* Ability to manage contractors, review risk assessment and method statements and issue permits
* Understanding of the site utilities and services.
* Experience of working within continuous improvement programmes.

Qualifications:
* Ideally City & Guilds, ONC in an engineering discipline (HNC preferable)
