Job Description
Development Chemist required on a permanent basis in South Yorkshire. Requiring a degree in Chemistry or related subject (Polymer Science or Materials Science) and proven industrial experience of formulating adhesives or coatings.

Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience)

SRG are currently working with a well-established company producing a wide variety of emulsions and adhesives for a wide range of applications. As their success continues and the company continues to grow, they are looking to hire a Development Chemist to join their small technical team based in South Yorkshire. This role would suit candidates with proven industrial experience of developing or formulating adhesives, coatings or emulsions. Candidates that have a PhD in polymer or materials science with post-doc experience are also encouraged to apply.

Role / Description
Develop formulations of new and existing products polymer/emulsion products, working on multiple projects simultaneously
Support process improvement of formulations
Support in various short-term applications and development projects
Support in the scale-up of new products, providing support to production as and when needed
Convert successful formulations into manufacturing instructions, supporting the scale-up from laboratory to production
Advising production teams on appropriate adjustments to ensure product meets customer specification
Complete production Quality Control (QC) as requiredRequirements
A degree in Chemistry or similar (Polymer Science or Materials Science)
Proven industrial formulation/development experience with a range of backgrounds considered (coatings, paints, adhesives, polymers, emulsions, acrylics)
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
Well organised with good time management skills
