Job Description

Roma Black are proud to be working in partnership with an energy management and building services design consultancy in Southampton who are looking for a Energy Engineer to join their expanding team. 

We are looking for someone with a background in mechanical engineering with an interest in sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. 

The role will involve working on sustainable and low energy design projects for the building services industry. 

Duties and responsibilities of an Energy Engineer:
– Undertake building energy surveys and reporting
– Developing heat decarbonisation plans
– Preparing net zero carbon strategies
– Calculating project costs
– Analysing data
– Carrying out detailed power generation and building thermal modelling 

Required background and skills of an Energy Engineer:
– Background in mechanical engineering from experience or studies
– Knowledge of mechanical building services systems including heating systems, lighting, power generation and heat loss
– Passionate about sustainability and reducing carbon emissions
– Ideally degree qualified in a relevant subject
– Competent using modelling software
– Full UK driving licence
