Job Description

Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our Health & safety (SHE) team, covering our projects and offices across the UK.

In this role you will support the team to develop, implement and maintain an “industry leading” and ISO 14001 accredited environmental management system. This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey and will require travel across the UK to our office and site locations.

Responsibilities

Key deliverables in this role are:

* Provide health and safety leadership and guidance to ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities

* Support the Engineering Head of SHE in providing pro-active leadership for all NGB Engineering Projects / Offices on all Environmental issues and promoting an enthusiastic and positive commitment and approach to continuous improvement of our overall Environmental performance.

* Provide professional liaison and support between NG Bailey and our Customers and Clients.

* Raise the profile of NG Bailey Environmental activity and ensure that competent personnel and Sub-Contractors are deployed by Engineering to deliver services/projects etc.

* Provide expert opinion/knowledge in respect of Environmental legislative requirements, Industry Leading Best Practice and recognised standards, and ensure that these requirements in respect of the NG Bailey activities/services are not compromised.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Thorough knowledge of Environmental legislation and an understanding of Industry Leading ‘Best Practice’ and/or recognised standards;

* Knowledge and implementation of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)

* Good report writing / IT skills and excellent communication/interpersonal skills

* Experience in managing teams / supporting Group Companies/Divisions Experience working within related Industry/Sectors

Training and Qualifications

Qualified to NEBOSH / IEMA Diploma or Degree Standard (Desirable)

Experience and qualifications normally associated with successful performance of role.
