Job Description

We have a great opportunity for Multi-skilled Field Service Engineer (Electrically Biased) to join a growing, dynamic and fast paced organisation which Install, service and maintain, a variety of bespoke packaging solutions to businesses across the UK.

Alongside the maintenance of complex machinery, they also provide a world class aftermarket service to all of their customers. These products and services have gained a superb reputation for assisting customers. This company has continued to invest significantly in its people and technologies, which has allowed them to expand and grow exponentially.

As the next Multi-skilled Field Service Engineer, you’ll work alongside an experience , well established service team that work with some of the Largest Blue Chip organisations, maintaining some of the best , bespoke packaging machinery on the market.

Responsibilities of the role comprise:

* The field-based engineer completes installations, preventative maintenance and breakdowns at our customers’ sites and in the workshop as required.

* Liaise with clients/customers to trouble shoot issues prior to attending site.

* Meticulous adherence to relevant checklists to ensure work is completed to appropriate standards.

* Deliver onsite equipment service and breakdown cover for our range of filling systems and pump installations.

* Supporting onsite proof of concept and customer demonstrations.

* Provide training to customers on the use and optimization of our product installations.

* Provide remote technical support via various mediums including phone, email, Teams and webchat.

* You will have a formal education in Electrical, Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Engineering – ESSENTIAL

* You’ll have worked in a busy Manufacturing/ Industrial background (5 years+) – ESSENTIAL

* You’ll have a wide range of working experience on a variety of rotating equipment such as Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, gearboxes etc. – ESSENTIAL

* You’ll have experience working under pressure on customer sites.

* You will hold a full, clean, driving licence.

* You should possess a high level of communication skills and be able to develop a strong report and trust level with our customers.

* You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of PLC Programming- DESIRABLE

* You will be comfortable working autonomously, whilst at the same time working to the requirements of the line manager and communicating with both customers and the members of our team who are dependent on your feedback.

* You are experienced in following Health and Safety guidelines and are experienced in making appropriate Risk Assessments and you ensure that you work in a safe manner

* Results orientated, you aim to carry out work to a high standard within the allocated time and costs whilst always keeping the client in mind.

* You will be punctual and able to submit reports in a timely fashion.

* You are either currently in a service or maintenance role and therefore will be used to dealing with both a planned and a reactive workload.

* A highly self-motivated person is required as this role will need someone who can operate independently, develop customer support / service engineering opportunities, arrange visits and organise for themselves a programme of service engineer support visits with the minimum of supervision and support – you need to be a real self-starter.

* Ability to communicate at all levels.

The Package

As the next Multi Skilled Field Service Engineer you’ll report into the Operations manager and will receive the following;

* Basic salary between £33,000 – £38,000 depending on experience

* Overtime Available at 1.5x

* A fully serviced Van, tools and fuel card will also be provided with this position.

* 23 days Holidays + Bank holidays

* Opportunity to progress through the business and further develop through additional training.
