Job Description
SERVICE ENGINEER***
We are on the hunt for a home-based (anywhere in the South of England) Service Engineer with a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification to undertake installation, commissioning, servicing, calibration, fault finding and repair or replacement of components and equipment on all contracts and specialist projects. You will need previous relative experience as a mobile service engineer within an industrial environment with various types of instrumentation and controls.
Salary £35K + Benefits including a company van and fuel card
Key responsibilities for the Service Engineer include,
Carry out routine maintenance of equipment and systems included in the periodic service contracts
Resolve technical and application problems on site
Requisition spares and replacement parts from the office/stores and to maintain stock
Acquire a working knowledge in the use of specialist test equipment relating to the job
Be responsible for the allocated Company vehicle
Ensure that all reports and paperwork are completed and submitted on time
Be able and prepared to travel throughout the UK and, in certain circumstances, overseas whenever necessary
The ideal Service Engineer will need,
Electro-mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent
ONC or HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or similar
Plant maintenance/fault finding experience
Strong electrical skills and experience
Experience with industrial instrumentation
Experience with Steam Boilers
Confident MS Office skills
Full UK driving licence essential, maximum 3 points
Full training given on equipment to be worked on along with company policies and procedures
This role will suit a highly self-motivated Service Engineer who is able to work on their own initiative with limited supervision. Note this is a home based role, you can be based anywhere within the South of England
