Head of Web/Back-End Development
We are looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead and manage the development of the web and back-end part of our Client's SaaS platform. A successful candidate should, above all, have a passion for software that solves user’s problems using innovative and adaptable methods. They should work well as part of a team and have the appropriate skills and character to lead others. Responsibilities will include contributing to the architecture of our Client's SaaS, managing a team that implements new features and maintains part of their platform. Successful candidates should also be able to mentor other developers to grow their skills through pair programming, code review and one on one coaching.
Your responsibilities as our Client's Head of Web/Back-End Development:
* Delivery of the back-end/web stack components of the annual roadmap
* Delivery of both excellent software, both technically and in terms of UX
* Report to Technical Director and rest of the business about progress, issues, and opportunities
* Mentor, train and motivate the Back-End/Web team
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business both internally and externally to the Engineering department (e.g., Sales, UI/UX or Mobile engineering personnel)
* Raise and solve problems as they occur through the development process
* Produce comprehensive and accurate specification and estimates for work
* Lead Architect for the Web and Back-End part of their SaaS platform
* Manage freelance or outsourced developers, as applicable, on specific projects
What makes you the ideal candidate for the role:
* Experience leading and mentoring developers
* Experience with C# and .NET Core stack
* Experience with JavaScript or Typescript and CSS or CSS pre-processors such as SCSS
* Building production applications and architecting software to build scalable, enduring solutions
* Experience with CI/CD approaches
* Experience with unit and e2e testing and testing strategies
* Expertise in using Git, including being able to solve complex issues which may arise with multi-person teams
* Expertise with Azure or similar cloud-based environments
