Job Description

RM Recruit are working with a National Not for Profit Organisation to recruit an Interim Head of Finance for their high performing team. Reporting to the Deputy Finance Director, this technical role is a crucial to the smooth running of the end to end financial process in a sizable charity that delivers front line community services across the UK against a large portfolio of long-term and highly bespoke contracts.

Your remit will include, but not be limited to:

* Month end accounts preparation and processes, including the identification and processing of journals, control account reconciliations, month end routines and close down

* Leading the central finance function of the payments, receipts and payroll teams to ensure a high quality service is provided to the wider organisation

* Ensure month end processes are timely and accurate and overall deadlines are met.

* Overseeing all VAT/banking/investments processes

* Leading on and improving Gift Aid requirements and compliance

* Develop, maintain and continually improve all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the Charity

The successful candidate will have team management skills in sizable organisations and be a fully qualified/part qualified accountant. Sector experience is highly desirable, particularly around Gift Aid and Charity VAT accounting, as well as the confident use of complex ERP systems. This role is based in Birmingham but offers hybrid working of 2 days office based with 3 days home working per week. This contract will have a duration of 12 months
