Highways/Infrastructure Engineer – Redhill Job in Redhill, Surrey
Job Description
Our client has an excellent reputation for delivering projects and is in the enviable position of having a healthy orderbook. As a result they are looking to bring an ambitious and motivated Highway / Infrastructure Engineer into their Redhill office on a full time, permanent basis.
You will form part of an existing team to deliver a varied programme of highway, Infrastructure and transportation schemes for a wide range of public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, dedicated and experienced Highways Design Engineers with experience of using Civil 3D and/or Drainage Design Engineers using Microdrainage, with the desire to seek an increased level of responsibility and take ownership of projects.
Responsibilities:
Highway design for Section 38 and Section 278,
Highway infrastructure design elements (e.g. barriers, signage, road markings),
UK highway design codes and standards (Design Manual for Roads & Bridges),
AutoCAD, AutoDesk Civil 3D and BIM,
Foul and Surface Water Drainage Design according to the Design and Construction Guidance (DCG) for RIBA Stages 1 – 6 including drainage strategy and detailed drainage design,
SuDS and blue-green infrastructure design,
MicroDrainage modelling,
Production of drainage drawings,
Drainage design for Section 104 and Section 106,
Technical reports and production of supporting documents,
Bid and fee proposal preparation,
Project management and financial awareness of projects. Meeting and liaising with clients, stakeholders and other disciplines,
CDM Regulations and relevant health and safety knowledge and training.
Requirements:
An MEng in civil or structural engineering,
A Chartered engineer or making progress towards Chartership,
Ideally between 3-4 years' post graduate experience,
Working knowledge of industry software including MicroDrainage, Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Excellent technical and communication skills.
