Interim NHS Head of Midwifery Job in East Midlands
Job Description
Our client an NHS Organisation, based in the Midlands seeks to recruit an Interim Head of Midwifery for an initial period of 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain effective communication flows with the Chief Nurse providing briefings on current issues as they impact on the quality and safety of patient care and experience.
* To provide senior credible professional voice in a variety of settings, attending meetings and forums, challenging where necessary to ensure compassion in care is of the highest possible standard within the Trust.
* Maintain an up to date understanding of developments and changes in legislation, national policy and guidance that relate to all aspects of midwifery practice and ensure that the Divisional Director and Chief Nurse are kept appraised of the likely impact upon services and their implications for the Trust.
* Provide the Chief Nurse and Trust Board with professional advice and information on national, regional and local midwifery issues and the maternity risks which flow from the consideration of strategic options.
* Ensures that the Division meets all National and Trust standards which includes the setting of improvement trajectories to demonstrate a higher level of achievement.
* To contribute to and lead service redesign and new ways of working which result in improvement in performance, quality of service and patient experience.
Key Requirements:
* Registered Midwife with NMC.
* Registered professional management and midwifery leadership experience at senior level.
* Experience of leading service Improvement projects and complex.
