Legal Officer – Poole – up to £55k
This newly created role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property law specialist (Legal Executive / Paralegal / Solicitor) to join a fun and fast-paced legal team based in Poole, Dorset. This growing department has fantastic scope for career progression and the successful candidate would have a key role in shaping the future of this team.
This is a forward-thinking company that provides short term bridge and development loans to property developers and investors in the South of England, with loans ranging from £100k to £15m.

Reporting to the Legal Director you will be responsible for:
Leading: You would need to provide efficient in-house management of the legal department’s transactions and processes and liaise with the Legal Director.
Analysing risks: You would be expected to identify and analyse legal risks arising from Reports on Title or queries submitted by the company’s panel lawyers feeding these back to the Legal Director or the Directors of the company, as appropriate.
Property law: You will be expected to incorporate your working knowledge of property law generally, in particular with regard to the acquisition and disposal of development sites.
Third party management: You will liaise with third party solicitors and the external panel solicitors, monitoring their reports and working together to ensure appropriate security is granted and that the lending process is dealt with in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will have:
* This candidate should be a Chartered Legal Executive or Solicitor with a deep understanding of property law – preferably with at least 24mths+ experience in the sector.
* Proven experience and ability of dealing with property law issues generally, in particular in the commercial and development spheres.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to challenge.
* A natural self-starter – able to grow and take on additional responsibilities with the drive and determination to carve a successful career.
* Good communication skills with the ability to flex language to your audience.
* An ability to liaise with the team in order to deal with multiple loan cases and to provide legal guidance in the management of those processes from inception to completion, and subsequent registration
