Job Description
You have the opportunity to join a family-owned, successful specialist manufacturer that have seen a strong period of growth & are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team at their Birmingham site. You will be looking after planned maintenance, breakdowns & changeovers, as well as supporting the Leadership team by leading & participating in improvements for reliability utilising continuous improvement techniques.

They have recently invested heavily in automating a large part of the site & you will be supporting the integration & continued improvement of the facility.
Description
As the Maintenance Engineer, you have the opportunity to join a successful Engineering department, working for one of the UK's top companies in their industry. As well as:
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all engineering activities completed, meeting Health & Safety standards
Maintain production equipment with a proactive approach to provide robust repairs to prevent future losses to uptime
Responsible for implementing the planned maintenance schedule, with a continuous improvement focus
Working with the Leadership team, manage KPIs & develop an action plan for key issues
Define and improve technical changeovers using lean techniques (i.e. SMED)
Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities relating to Production, Engineering & Manufacturing
Ensure all tasks are completed to the correct product quality standards
Provide diagnostic assistance to technical team members
Support Production with equipment modifications and new product introduction
Maintain spare part inventories and order new parts with a cost-effective approach
Whilst the above represents a summary of the Role and Responsibilities expected, related or unrelated tasks may be requested at the discretion of supervisionWorking Hours: Monday to Friday (Week 1 06:00 – 14:00 / Week 2 10:00 – 18:00 rotating)
Profile
This role is suitable for a Production/Reliability/Maintenance Engineer with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will also have the following:
Time served apprenticeship to HNC level or similar qualification in a related engineering field and experience within a similar role
Multi-skilled training with ideally an electrical bias
PLC fault finding and modifications experience is beneficial
Robotics experience control, and modification
Knowledge of problem solving and analysis tools (FMEA, 5 Whys or equivalent)
Strong understanding of H&S within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment
Ability to work on your own & as part of a teamJob Offer
