Proprec Search have been exclusively retained by a manufacturing client in the Newcastle area to recruit an ambitious and commercially focused Managing Director with experience in the manufacturing industry.

This successful and growing business is part of a larger group with over 1000 employees in 15 countries and is a global leader in the design and manufacture of a range of transport solutions.

With a growth strategy to double turnover in the next 5 years, this is a newly created position and is an exciting time to lead an expanding team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Managing Director will be responsible for the overall growth and commercial success of the business.

The Role:

Overall responsibility for 170 staff in 3 locations and a £20m turnover.
Responsibility for the Sales Team – providing leadership and support and cultivating a growth mindset
Using your own skills and experience to drive innovation and business growth, both within the UK and internationally and improve profitability year on year
Representing the company at a senior level to facilitate business introductions and close deals
Develop business strategy, and follow through into operations and completion within pre-set timescales
Reporting on KPIs to the Board and CEO
Attending Board meetings alongside senior management
Working with senior management to cultivate a positive company ethos and culture, and to promote the company’s core values

Experience and Skills Required:

Experience in the manufacturing industry is essential. You must be able to understand manufacturing from a senior leadership perspective
Strong commercial acumen with experience in Sales and Sales Management / leading a successful sales team
Able to demonstrate experience of delivering business growth and increasing profitability
A strong growth mindset, with an innovative approach to business development and driving sales
Extensive understanding of business operations and operations management
Experience of working in an international business is highly desirable
