Job Description
An exciting opportunity to join the PE department of a large secondary school in Salford, ideal for those considering teaching in the future.
Full-time PE support position.
Secondary school based in Salford.
Our client school is considering applications from graduates or unqualified PE teachers.
Supporting pupils aged 11-16 across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Earn up to £380 per week.
Due to a timetable restructure and an increase in students in the new academic year, our client secondary school are looking for an additional member of staff to join the PE department to ensure all pupils are supported.
Working as PE support in our client school, will include the following roles and responsibilities:
Working alongside other members of staff within the PE department.
Supporting pupils during female PE lessons and helping with cover in other departments if required.
Implement strategies to guide pupils with learning difficulties.
Help to plan, prepare and deliver differentiated PE lessons to meet the needs of individuals at various levels of learning.
Promote positive behaviour management skills amongst pupils and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.
The incoming candidate will be supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and will be expected to cover pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher alongside providing small group sessions for pupils who require extra support. It will also be important to monitor and evaluate pupil progress and report these back to senior members of staff. The incoming applicant will also be able to work alongside other members of the department to help deliver some sessions.
Our client school is located in Salford with various links to public transportation from surrounding areas such as Bolton and central Manchester. Our client secondary school can also be accessed via the M62 and A580 for candidates who have their own transportation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
