Procurement Manager (Generalist) – National transport operator – London (hybrid) – £50,000-£60,000 depending on experience plus package
Pod is very excited to be working with a multinational transportation company that has been growing exponentially in the last years. Serving more than 3 billion passenger and constantly working to improve their services, they are now looking for a talented Procurement Manager to join their team.
Role overview
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Deputising for the Head of Procurement (to whom you will be directly reporting to) and working to improve the business' procurement practices
Looking after categories such as security or cleaning, managing the full end-to-end process
Managing high value, complex contracts across a variety of goods and services categories making sure these align to the company and industry's regulations
Identifying and managing risks that may arise through the contracts' operation
Negotiating commercial terms to deliver cost savings and improvements
Building and looking after relationships with internal and external stakeholders to add value to the business
Key skills and experience required
Strong end-to-end procurement experience with the ability to run strategic sourcing projects in a heavy regulated industry (e.g., rail, transportation, engineering, manufacturing, etc.)
Excellent knowledge of commercial contracts, of contract management lifecycle and full end-to-end sourcing process
Commercial acumen and analytical skills
Competent user of ERP Systems and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication (both oral and written), negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments as well as autonomously with a proactive approach
