Job Description

Role Purpose:

Support the Business Unit leaders, QHSE Director and their teams in interpreting, developing, and implementing the core requirements of the GWS quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) management systems.

Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of the Business Unit's QHSE risk management, assurance and improvement strategies, undertaking audits and inspections, and providing QHSE technical advice and guidance in support of the Division's aspiration to be recognised as 'best in class'.

Act as a senior QHSE change agent, providing coaching and mentoring to the Business Unit leadership in support of driving safe/sustainable behaviors and the development of a positive QHSE organisational culture.

Provide a clear conduit into/out of the Business Unit for QHSE best practices, emerging solutions and lessons learned, ensuring UKS policies and approaches remain fit for purpose and continually improve.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of specific QHSE policies and controls to reflect Business Unit and customer needs, working closely with Business Unit Leads to interpret, develop, and implement the core requirements of the GWS quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) management systems.

Work closely with the QHSE Director and Business Unit Leads to embed a culture of visible and proactive QHSE leadership, identifying and coaching leaders and undertaking regular reviews of business performance and behaviours.

Work with Business Unit leaders to develop and implement risk-based QHSE assurance programmes comprising process audits, compliance inspections, health checks and visible leadership tours. This includes the undertaking of contract and project visits (both internal and supplier) and providing advice and guidance to operational teams in the resolution of non-conformities and the development of continual improvement strategies.

Support the Business Unit operational teams in the investigation and management of QHSE incidents and failures, including the development of future preventative strategies, and the wider communication of learning from experience outputs.

Support the Business Unit operational teams in the identification, development, and adoption of appropriate QHSE competency standards, including minimum training expectations that support the Divisional QHSE strategy, policy and process, and reflect customer requirements.

Provide QHSE technical advice, guidance and communications to the Business Unit on current and emerging risks, regulatory changes, sector standards and customer requirements, acting as the Business Unit subject matter expert (SME) for agreed topics and disciplines.

Establish collaborative working partnerships and peer to peer relationships with internal stakeholders, the primary supply chain and wider SMEs to support the achievement of the Business Unit's QHSE objectives, promote best working practice and consistently high standards. This includes acting as Business Unit representative on SME areas within internal and external best practice forums.

Support Business Unit leaders and the QHSE Director in monitoring, analysing and reviewing QHSE performance and trends, identify appropriate initiatives and differentiators to ensure continual improvement; driving consistency in all areas.

Support the QHSE aspects of wining/retaining business through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, bid and contract generation and review through to support during mobilisation and resourcing activities on contracts.

Further Information and Requirements:

A formal qualification in Health and Safety management.
Technical Membership to a HSE professional body
Experience of hard service and soft service provision within property management.
Experience in QHSE training and development.
Experience with developing and assuring QHSE Management Systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Numerate with a high degree of computer literacy
