Senior Materials Selection Engineer (Corrosion) Job in Farnborough
Job Description
Technically responsible for an area of work and supervises preparation of specific materials deliverables.
Material Selection (input to materials selection diagrams and material selection reports)
Review of welding, painting, fabrication, non – destructive examination and testing procedures
Evaluation of fabricated equipment for compliance with project materials and welding requirements
Preparation of project standards and specifications in the fields of welding, fabrication, non – destructive examination, cathodic protection, and corrosion control
Supports/ organises the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR). Identifies requirements and scope of work; reviews Basis of Design, philosophies, specifications, and other relevant documents. Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal/contract to Lead/Principal Engineer. Supports discipline input to regular Project reporting.
Competent to review and check work carried out by other engineers, as delegated by Lead/Principal Engineer.
Providing advice and guidance on material and fabrication issues
Ensures compliance with MOSL’s ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures. Complying with other MOSL accredited frameworks such as ISO 14001.
Undertakes specific tasks/area of work as defined by the Lead/Principal Engineer, including: including input to Proposals, ITT SOW, Preparing Equipment and Package Specifications and Datasheets, studies such as Compressor & Driver Selection, and preparation of technical requisitions for long lead items.
Contributes to training and development of other staff including identifying employee strengths and weaknesses and recommends training and development requirements.
Interfaces with other disciplines in house and sub-contractors as necessary to ensure integrated and optimal design.Skills

Anti-corrosion design and cathodic protection

Exposure to Consultancy, FEED/ Detailed Design and EPC projects.
Knowledge of international material engineering specifications and codes.
In depth knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures
Activity Scheduling and discipline work priorities.
Relevant ASME, API, NACE Publications
Knowledge of stainless steel, Cr – Mo alloy steels and low alloy Ni – steels
Welding and fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks and piping
Non – destructive examination techniques for welded joints
Lining and coating systemsQualifications
Extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering
Oil and Gas experience
Experience of FEED and Detailed Engineering Project stages
Experience of working for Engineering / Client Organizations
Experience of Middle East/North Africa – Preferred
