Job Description

A Local Authority I'm working with in Kent is looking for an Interim Senior Planning Policy Officer to help them on an initial 6 month contract, progressing their local plan.

Your responsibilities would be the following:

To manage and support projects with a focus on the production of the Local Plan and other spatial planning documents and projects on time, to a high quality and to budget, as set out in the Local Plan Programme. This includes the consultation, communication plans and activities needed for continuous engagement of interested parties in the Local Plan and any planning documents. To manage and support projects with a focus on fee-earning for Croydon Council in the field of spatial planning.

-Assisting in the delivery of allocated projects in the Local Plan programme
-Provide highlight reports on the financial and risk management of allocated project budgets
-Support the production of the Local Plan and SPDs that promote the strengths of the area as a place to live and work
-Support fee-earning projects in the field of Spatial Planning
-Assisting in promoting and communicating the spatial vision, in the form of the Local Plan to the rest of the Council, its partners and all interested parties
-Keeping subscribers to the Local Plan database regularly informed of progress in the involvement and production of Local Plan programme.
