Job Description

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Flexible – National Travel

Sector: Facilities Management

Overview

I am working with a small Facilities Management which have seen considerable growth in recent years and financially backed by a large Construction business. They are seeking an experienced QS to work alongside their Commercial Manager and partner with their wide array of clients across the UK.

The role is home based but expected travel to meet with clients on an adhoc basis to ensure a good client relationship. This is an excellent opportunity and a very senior position within their team and huge growth opportunities within the business.

Main Responsibilities

* Meeting yearly targets to help achieve the overall plan for business profit, across multiple areas of the business.

* Achieving the commercial success of projects where a QS role is being undertaken.

* No direct reports on permanent basis

* On temporary basis – estimator/ QS reporting as direct reports.

* Working closely with Operational and support teams across the FM business and in other parts of the Group, as well as 3rd parties involved in giving them advice.

* Accountable to the Commercial Manager.

What the client is seeking

*

* Experienced in quantity surveying with a proven track record of being able to commercially lead on project delivery, covering all areas from tendering to settling final accounts within budget.

* Experience on ‘2 stage’ tenders and/ or presenting the valuation of variations

* An understanding of FM and the key differences between FM and construction

* Proven ability to adhere to strict budgets and timescales

* Experience in using standard forms of building contract

Essential:

* Degree in Quantity Surveying

Desirable:

* MRICS

* FM and/or Construction industry recognised qualification e.g. CIOB
