Job Description
Software Developer
Are you web developer that enjoys problem solving and working on complex cloud based products? Would you enjoy role that can offer variety, challenges and excellent opportunity to further develop technical skills and career? Would working on products for domains such as 3D printing and Robotics? Then you may want to talk to us about this role.
This is new role with growing global leader working on innovative products. You will help clients solve the most complex design challenges and engineer products to accomplish complex development objectives. This an R&D focussed role responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. You will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues and satisfy customer requirements.
Responsibilities will include some / all of the following depending upon experience.
Participates in planning, architecture, and research
Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research
Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities
Technical Skills and Experience:
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with commercial experience with as many of the following:
Angular 7+ with typescript and websockets
Design pattern expertise: Factory, Singleton, Observer etc
Web 3D CAD rendering using interfaces such as WebGL, ThreeJS
WebGL Shader programming and debugging experience
Clear understanding of promise based REST API consumption
Soft skills:
Passion for crafting robust and efficient code with a focus on extensibility
Experience delivering high-quality products in commercial software development environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team
This is role with office based in Glasgow but is open to flexible working with only occasional visits to office required and also for some candidates fully remote working.
