We have partnered with a leading private hospital organisation offering care across a range of medical and surgical interventions. We are currently supporting them with their recruitment for a Band 5 Surgical Ward Nurse specifically focusing on Orthopaedics and Spinal surgeries.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
The overall responsibility within this role to work across the hospital's 20 bedded unit where they provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of orthopaedic and spinal conditions. Working alongside the Senior Staff Nurses as a Staff Nurse on the orthopaedics ward you will be responsible for ensuring the right standard of care is provided to all patients at all time. Your responsibility will cover all aspects of acute patient care, often including comorbidity and post-surgery recovery. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Working as part of the team you will be competent across Venepuncture, Cannulation and Phlebotomy, carrying out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. You will also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff
REQUIREMENTS
Registered RGN with NMC pin number
Experience of working in an acute surgical environment, orthopaedic experience is not essential but would be desirable
Competent in care to patients pre and post-operative and the ability to quickly identify any concerns and act accordingly
Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
