Job Description
Job Title: Support Workers
Location: Colchester CO5
Rate of Pay: £9.50-£13.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP – Shifts available this week
Swanstaff are looking for passionate Support Workers to join our team within two bungalows providing care for up to 8 adults with physical or learning disabilities in Colchester. The role of a support worker is unique as some days you may take residents on a shopping spree and the next day you could be taking them to see their favourite rock band! You will be aware and responsive to the residents and emotional needs to ensure that all activities are accessible for all.
You will be required to assist residents who need help dressing, undressing, bathing and using the toilet. Other activities may include taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing and hobbies.
Staff strive on providing the best care for the residents depending on their needs and abilities showing person centered care throughout. As a member of Swanstaff recruitment you will be required to show the same standard of person centred care as the permanent staff in the home.
Requirements
Assisting residents with care
Manage daily activities in care plan
Administrating medication where needed
Assisting with bathing, showering, changing of the beds
Companionship and care in a variety of settings
Encourage residents to feel comfortable and confident in their abilities to live independently
