Job Description

Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work in a fast-paced environment with ample opportunities for career development?
I have an excellent position that has just become available to work within a career development enterprise as a system engineer with a focus on Microsoft technologies. This position will require adaptability as you will be dealing with a variation of daily requirements with a fast-changing frequency which will require you to think on your feet. The Systems Engineer role is key to ensuring that internal systems are robust, secure, and well designed. This role involves ensuring that server infrastructure and associated systems of the International business run smoothly and reliably to provide a secure and stable platform for business operations. Starting ASAP, Paying up to £65,000 per annum.

*Design, install, configure, maintain, and monitor infrastructure hardware and software, including physical servers, SANs, VM solutions, blades, disaster recovery, etc.
*Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with Applications, Network, Server, Security and Hardware environments
*Working with the global infrastructure team to implement large scale solutions across an international organisation.
*Configuring and supporting domain and AD infrastructure, and enterprise applications
*Working with the Systems Administrator team to ensure server infrastructure is kept secure, patched, and adequately always maintained
*Maintaining accurate and up to date infrastructure documentation
*Reviewing long term trends and identifying future capacity or performance issues to recommend and take appropriate preventative action. Looking for proactive opportunities to resolve issues before they impact IT systems and services
*Investigating and recommending technical solutions to meet changing business needs
*Create documentation including design, implementation, and process documents.
*Serve as team lead/subject matter expert for junior team members.

Key Requirements:
*An in depth understanding of Microsoft operating systems, including all versions of Windows server from 2008 to 2019, Windows 10 desktop.
*Experience installing and administrating Linux (Centos, RHEL, or Ubuntu)
*Detailed knowledge of core server technologies and domain configuration and management, including DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, SMTP, and SSL.
*Experience in Domain Trusts, Active Directory Federation.
*Good understanding of SAN architecture and implementation
*Experience in managing remote infrastructure across multiple time zones
*Detailed understanding of VMWare and SAN technologies
*Excellent knowledge of Office 365 security/migration/integration
*Experience with implementing and maintaining VOIP phone systems
*Expertise in SQL, endpoint management systems (e.g. SCCM, Ivanti, etc.), CRM, and O365.
*A working understanding of network topologies such as VLANs, IPs, sub-nets, and routing.
*Good understanding of Power-Shell / VB Scripting
*Experience with CIS Hardening Standards and/or DISA STIGs
