This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to the principles of social inclusion, to work with adults with mental health needs. Based in our York Haven you will be supporting a team of Crisis Recovery Workers within our crisis referral-based service.
The services operate 365 days a year between 6pm and 10pm weekdays and 2pm – 10pm Saturday & Sunday providing crisis de-escalation and reduce immediate distress, provide information and support around crisis prevention for clients and their families/carers accessing the service: signposting into other relevant and appropriate services.
We are looking for a resilient, solution focused individual to take on this role, it is a fast paced, challenging environment and you should have the ability to respond quickly and adapt your approach accordingly. You should be able to demonstrate the skills and ability to lead and develop a team of Crisis Recovery Workers. You will have experience of delivering social care services, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
About the role
You will offer:
* A welcoming, safe, supportive, and non-clinical environment that promotes opportunities for recovery
* Appropriate support and line management for staff members
* Support and leadership to ensure effective delivery and development of the service
* Smooth links to the crisis and home treatment teams, hospital liaison team, street triage and other partners
* Referral to the local Community Mental Health Services for urgent follow up the next working day for more severe crises
* A trauma aware approach
* Access and good connections with other mental health providers, both NHS, local authority, voluntary sector, police and ambulance.
* Help to relieve emotional distress by providing empathy, supportive reassurance catharsis and time.
* Leadership to the Team, working closely with mental health workers, partners and other agencies.
About you
* You will have experience of working within a Mental Health Setting and knowledge of Primary and Secondary Care Pathways
* You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise caseload and have an understanding of the principles of the care and mental health act
* Experience of working in a recovery based social inclusion service or a social care community-based setting
* Awareness of/and or experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues, particularly those that may be in distress
* Demonstrated skills and ability to help others identify and overcome barriers.
* You will hold a relevant Management Qualification
* Experience of all aspects of staff management.
* You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.
