Job Description
Technical Estimator – M&E Building Services
An M&E Estimator is required to produce detailed M&E building services estimates for design & build, new build & refurbishment projects of varying values from that of c£5K – c£500K respectively
Overview of the estimating duties and responsibilities (not restricted to)
Responsibility and accountability for the estimating function within the business i.e. tendering & estimates
Compilation of M&E building services package estimates to include (not limited to) power, distribution, lighting/emergency lighting & HVAC/mechanical services
Prepare detailed take-off and measurements from tender drawings & specification
Examine tender documentation, design proposals and analyse plans & specifications
Tender preparation from acceptance of enquiry through to final submission
Take offs of materials from drawings, and inputting into estimates to generate bills of quantities.
To manage and deliver the estimating process to ensure work is undertaken to commercial and qualitative performance standards, to ensure consistently accurate estimates to meet or exceed the business goals.
To provide estimating advice and commercial support to the bid-team
Develop and ensure that a consistent internal tender settlement / reconciliation report & handover process is implemented
Monitor the stages of projects to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecasts.Candidate Requirements
Hold M&E building services engineering qualifications and/or further training commensurate to the position of an Electrical Estimator
Experienced in the estimation of M&E building services installation projects i.e. D&B, refurbishment/fit out to the value of c£10,000 – c£500K and within client environments to include commercial, corporate & education environments.
M&E estimation expertise i.e. production of detailed estimates, preparation of take-off & measurements & tender preparation from enquiry through to final submissionAdditional Information
