Our client is a global leader in service, repair and maintenance of plant and heavy plant machinery, who are looking for a Workshop Engineer to assist with supporting their clients.
Responsibilities of The Workshop Engineer:
To service and repair construction equipment or miscellaneous equipment as required by line management, maintaining safe working practices throughout.
To carry out all work in line with quotations and time guides, highlighting to management where additional work may be required, upon strip-down of components.
Maintain a sufficient personal toolkit to enable you to carry out the job effectively.
In regards to company tooling (including but not limited to laptops, PDA’s, specialist tooling and lifting equipment), ensure defects are reported, use is in line with current test periods and in line with instructions/training. Skills Required of The Workshop Engineer:
Ability to communicate efficiently with colleagues, management and customers
Works with a cost conscious mindset to ensure maximum profitability
Problem solving ability and appropriate diagnostic skills
IT Literacy – basic computer skills and ability to use email
High standards and attention to detail
Ability to understand technical literature including service bulletins and parts books Knowledge and Experience Required of The Workshop Engineer:
A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics (i.e. NVQ 3) or willing to complete NVQ 3 through business.
Relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant, including proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics and electronics.
