Job Description
The client has a long history of providing audio visual solutions in the UK. Based in the North of England they are now supplying and installing AV equipment in a variety of environments. They have well-established relationships with their partners and clines which allows them to provide bespoke, future-proof solutions for an environment and industry. As part of the wider group this division specialises in the Retail, Corporate, Hospitality, Education and exhibition industry along with other specialist areas.
We are seeking an AV Operations Manager to join the team and work with our progressive and growing business, where we can offer a clear progression route. Your team will consist of more than 10 engineers and a good selection of subcontractors across the country.
We are looking for a candidate with technical AV knowledge who will be responsible for delivering projects of varying size and complexity and overseeing our team of installation engineers along with our internal projects team. This would suit a candidate who has experience of AV installations and more recently has worked in a more office-based role in a project management type role.
The main responsibilities for this role will be to:
• Conduct site visits and advise clients on the suitability of products and methods of installation
• Create plans from drawings to be used for quotes and installation purposes
• Prepare quotations for customers
• Liaise with clients about ongoing projects and attend project meetings as requested
• Oversee the scheduling of resources alongside the Projects team to meet ongoing project needs/demands
• Manage and oversee the delivery of specific projects, including stock ordering, resource allocation, logistics, installation and client interactions
• Always provide a high level of customer service, with a focus on building strong client relationships
• Work with internal sales teams to assist/manage technical and installation elements of quotes and projects and to assist with client meetings and communications
• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to internal teams
• Oversee the team of engineers, conducting monthly one to one catch ups and dealing with issues arising and general management tasks, assisted by the Projects team
• Manage vehicle fleet maintenance, including overseeing regular engineer checks
• Oversee onboarding and management of subcontractors to ensure high-quality standards are maintained
• Put in place and monitor processes to maintain and where necessary improve installation and project management standards
• Work within the existing system and where necessary help to develop systems and processes to improve efficiency
• Ensure health and safety compliance
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in managing projects or installations is essential
• Experience within the AV industry or wider technology arena is advantageous
• A well-organised and process-driven person is essential
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are critical
• Proficient in MS Office especially excel
• Experience of Sage 200 would be beneficial, but training will be given
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Strong multi-tasking skills
This role reports to the department Director
Hours: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Competitive salary (negotiable dependent upon experience)
