Automation Engineer – Hampshire – Competitive Salary

Blackfield Associates have been retained on a search assignment for multiple Automation Engineers. This to work with our client, a world leading contact lens manufacturing organisation, who are based in Hampshire. They have the ability to recruit for this role at Engineer, Senior or Principal level.

The main function of the role will be to assist in the development, production and documentation of control systems within a highly automated manufacturing environment.

You will have strong knowledge of PLC and Scada programming packages, including RSLogix, Contrologix, RSView/ FT View, although similar experience on a similar system (Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi etc) is also sought after. You will have previous experience working on projects where you have commissioned and validated production machinery at the same time.

Main duties include:

Assist in the design, implementation and validation of control systems for new processes
Support and optimise existing control systems in line with continuous improvement activities
Specifying, modifying and reviewing code for Rockwell PLCs
SCADA Development throughout the life cycle of a project
Validation of systems and continuing support into production
Assist Engineering department where required
Key member of the controls team in the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologiesIn order to be considered candidates will hold a Degree/HND/HNC in an Electrical Engineering discipline (or similar) and have a good control systems background within an automated environment. Any experience working in the food/pharmaceutical industries would be highly advantageous, although this isn't essential.
